SME Faculty Team Honored with National Innovation Pioneer Award
On May 30, China's 10th National Science and Technology Workers' Day, the 4th National Innovation Pioneer Award ceremony was held in Beijing. The Aerospace Mechanisms and Control team from the School of Mechatronics Engineering and alumnus Zhang Chongfeng received national honors.
The Research Center of Aerospace Mechanism and Control was conferred the National Innovation Pioneer Medal. Led by Academician Zongquan Deng, the research collective comprises 15 core members including Academician Hong Liu, Prof. Jibin Zou, Prof. Honghao Yue and Prof. Shengyuan Jiang. Rooted in Northeast China, the team dedicates itself to fundamental, cutting-edge and strategic research on aerospace mechanism development, driven by major national strategic demands. Its research achievements have strongly supported a series of landmark national aerospace missions, including China's Manned Spaceflight Project, Lunar Exploration Program, deep-space exploration and on-orbit servicing. The team enabled Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT) to secure the Outstanding Collective Award of China's Manned Space Program, making HIT the only university in China to earn this prestigious accolade.
HIT alumnus Zhang Chongfeng was awarded the National Innovation Pioneer Certificate. Serving as chief designer at the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, alumnus Zhang Chongfeng completed his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees at the School of Mechatronics Engineering, HIT.
