Congratulations! Chen Xin has been elected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), and Bradley Nelson has been elected as a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS)

On November 21st, the CAS and CAE announced the list of newly elected academicians for 2025.Professor Chen Xin, an alumnus of the School of Mechatronics Engineering and currently affiliated with Guangdong University of Technology, has been elected as an academician of the CAE.Bradley Nelson, Editor-in-Chief of the international journal SmartBot initiated and led by our school, has been elected as a foreign academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).

Chen Xin, male, born in February 1960. He obtained a Master’s degree in Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering from the School of Mechatronics Engineering at Harbin Institute of Technology from September 1985 to October 1988. Currently serving as a Professor at Guangdong University of Technology, he previously held the positions of Secretary of the Party Committee and President of the university.

Bradley J. Nelson, an academician of the Swiss Academy of Technical Sciences (SATW), serves as the Editor-in-Chief of SmartBot and was a founding editorial board member of Science Robotics. He is also the director of the Institute of Robotics and Intelligent Systems at ETH Zurich.
