The 2015 World Robot Conference, which was co-organized by  the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), Ministry of Industry  and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the People's  Government of Beijing City, was held in China National Convention Center on  November 23 to 25. President Xi Jinping issued a letter to the Opening Ceremony,  Premier Li Keqiang sent a note of congratulations. More than 100 domestic and  international enterprises participated in the robot expo, showcasing their  leading robotic products. HIT’s Robotics Institute and HIT Robot Group took  dozens of robot products to the expo. Vice President Li Yuanchao, Vice Premier  Liu Yandong, Vice-Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee and President of  China Association for Science Han Qide, Minister of Industry and Information  Technology Miao Wei, Beijing Mayor Wang Anshun, Secretary of Party Leadership  and Vice Executive Chairman of China Association for Science Shang Yong, Deputy  Secretary of Party Committee of China Association for Science and Technology and  other leaders visited our school’s exhibition area respectively and gave high  marks on the exhibition products. Party Secretary Wang Shuquan, Vice-President  Han Jiecai and Guo Bin from Harbin Institute of Technology accompanied the  visit.

This conference is the first robotics industry  international conference operated by China, aiming to concentrate the world's  leading companies, embody global intelligence from experts, and develop industry  technology innovation. Twelve international robotic organizations, and 58  domestic scientific research institutions participated in this World Robot  Conference. Over 100 experts and scholars from more than ten countries including  Hong Kong and Macao regions participated in the public lectures and special  topic forums. 145 youth teams from 16 countries and areas participated in the  two-day World Adolescent Robot Contest 2015 (WARC 2015).

As the important fair exhibitors, HIT’s Robotics Institute  showed their “Dexterous Hand”, and HIT Robot Group displayed several tens of  robots and many intelligent equipment products from six categories include  wisdom factory system, industrial robots, specialized robots, service robots,  new intelligent equipment and intelligent cloud robotics. Robots, including  Peach blossom kyi automatic production line, lithium battery production line,  telecommunication network management and service system based on the industrial  cloud and engraving robot from wisdom factory system; rapid spray system and  nano-sized robotic manipulators from industrial robot; small anti-explosion  robotic vehicles, armed robot and pipe robot from specialized robot; guiding  robot, education robot, catering robot and window-cleaning robot from service  robot, cover a wide range of production, living, education, service, national  defense and other areas. These exhibits can play an active role in labor-saving,  serving people, improving people's livelihood and promoting  innovation.

During World Robot Conference, CCTV’s programs the Focus  of Interview and Morning News reported on the nano-robot, counter-terrorism  robot, education robot, dexterous hand, wall climbing robot, industrial robot  and other technical achievements which were developed by our university.  Concentrating on the problems of robotics technical achievement transformation,  the reporter interviewed relevant experts of our school.
